Each of our services are designed to be rapidly implemented and immediately useful to our clients whether they bundle them or simply want a single service. Our services provide affordable supplements and/or alternatives to retail account management tasks, data analysis, field sales management, category monitoring and more. Category Monitoring & Management
Managing categories at the highest level is about ensuring you have the products your customers want to buy where they want to buy them and at a fair price. It sounds simple until you try to constantly monitor a category's items across the marketplace - from different suppliers, in different colors , with different functionalities, changing names and packaging sizes etc. Even comparing prices given all these variables can range from daunting, to nearly impossible.

At Avantalytics, with our experience selling in the retailing industry and working with merchants, we recognize this complexity. That's why we have designed our systems to vastly reduce the burden necessary to accomplish this goal of category management and monitoring continuously over time. Armed with this, you'll combine your expert knowledge of your industry with the data to assist your merchant in a meaningful way.

Through the use of computer automation and in concert with our proprietary relations framework logic engine (CUPID) you can create and CUPID will maintain an in-depth and overlapping network of inter-relations across items, categories, and retailers. Simply make a relationship once between items, and track it easily as CUPID keeps everything organized for you.

Once this network is built it allows your to explore and monitor inter-relationships between your items and your competitors across a wide range of criteria essential for understanding the marketplace. Price Shopping & Monitoring
Competitive price shopping is an onerous task for suppliers to effectively complete on a regular basis. The amount of man-hours required to collect and collate the information and to do so on a timely basis can be immense. Moreover, human error creeps into the process introducing bad data which can lead to improper reactions and poor results. Automated services exist to collect and report this information, but they often fall short in their flexibility to compare items over a broad range of custom criteria.

Avantalytics, offers competitive price shopping that integrates directly into and draws upon the flexibility of our Category Management and Monitoring service. In so doing, you can leverage the relations made to quickly adjust comparisons to get the right competitive information when you need it. Functionality includes:

  • Set & monitor relative pricing between items based on size,color,or custom criteria.
  • Receive alerts as prices on competing items move.
  • Generate reports comparing prices across multiple retailers at once.

  • Historical pricing storage for back-testing.


Moreover, when integrated with our "POS Reporting" service you'll be able to do critical analysis historically to gauge the effect of price changes on your items. As with all our services, it requires no heavy integration or setup. Simply generate the list of items you supply and we'll do the rest!
POS Storage & Reporting
Integrating POS data is what brings out the color nearly all our other services. We've made sure this is a simple process for you. So simple - a daily or weekly upload can ignite the whole interface with rich comparisons to all our external data. Just one simple weekly upload and you're in business!

Because we understand the importance of this data to your business, we make it easy to utilize our services through unbeatable entry price point for storage and reporting of this information. By this, we mean about $400/month which includes receipt, translation,storage,encrypted raw-file retention, and of course reporting!

So if you're a small supplier on a tight budget, we provide an inexpensive way to get insight into your sales as your customer sees it. If you're a larger supplier and already have a POS solution with another firm, but still want to fuse this data with our other services you may utilize, you can afford to run both.

And, remember - no integration hassles!

Flexible Reporting


This reporting service is flexible. You can create, run, save reports, schedule and email them to yourself and others.



We even provide an innovative feature to allow you to share live reports and/or have them integrate seemlessly into Excel for use in pivot tables as the basis for your own custom reports. Access to reporting can be limited so you can provide limited access to different people inside and outside your company as well. If we don't have a report you're looking for, as a new customer you can request up to 3 additional reports at no additional charge.



In addition to the reporting interface we also integrate the sales data into many other areas of the system, including our mapping system, charts, the mobile interface and more. Just because our POS service is inexpensive, doesn't mean you don't get a lot for your money. We offer dozens of standard reports and visual interfaces (we don't like the word dashboard) customized by your role within the organization. We also provide interactive maps, charts, email delivery of scheduled reports. Below is a sample list of "standard" reports you will have at your disposal:

  • Nationwide Sales By Category
  • Sales & Inventory by Market Area / State / Geographic Region
  • Store Specific Sales
  • All standard time periods: Day, WTD, Week, MTD, Month, YTD, 12mo Roll and Custom
  • Inventory position and trend reports
  • OOS reports by item by location(both zero amount and configurable)

  • Sales by Salesperson


All of the reports have permissions so you can have multiple users access the data and customize access to each report on a per-user basis if desired.

Our services provides several possibilities for EDI data transmission ranging from simple secure website upload to FTPS or automated webservice upload. The reporting interface is via web as are all our services. We provide Excel output for many reports and can arrange to provide CSV files if needed. All storage is secure and data is replicated to prevent failure and downtime. Should you wish to load historical data, we will assist you in uploading this and setup as part of the standard setup fee. Decide later you wish to leave, we'll help you get your data out as well.

Field Sales Coordination
This service is designed to keep your field sales people informed and in the field. If you have even just a few sales people, fulltime or part-time or are thinking about it and wondering how to leverage your investment, our field sales coordination interface is the answer.

Like many of our other services, this is designed from experience. We've developed a 100% mobile solution leveraging the smartphone revolution to bring the essential subset of information to your people in the field. Designed to be compatible with all modern mobile devices we bring a simple and fast interface to all the common data needs of field sales rep. Leveraging GPS localization the interface customizes the data provided based on the store the sales person is in. An integrated interface allows account managers and support personnel to add tasks and our analytics engine can provide alerts to the sales people of potential issues inhibiting sales. Functionality includes:

Data Analyst Support
For many smaller companies lacking a dedicated data analyst, data analysis gets put either directly on the account manager or to the accounting department, or even worse - gets forgone alltogether! Hiring a full time analyst is expensive and all are not created equal.

To help, we offer alternatives to full time analysts through our Data Analyst Support. One of the main benefits of this service is that we can speak about the issues that are arising relating to your business and in many cases offer a solution that is both innovative, but also done in a more efficient manner than would be accomplished otherwise. Since each request is different, we develop a quote after discussing with you the needs and proceed from there with a fixed cost, no hourly charges with potential overages!

Our team has experience in a vast array of technologies including to name a few:

  • Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Macros, ODBC Connectivity, VBA and more
  • ETL, Import/Export to and from a vast array of formats: XML,JSON,CSV,HTML,Text, and more

  • Statistical modeling and regression analysis.
Plus, if your request is something that would traditionally be needed on a recurring basis, because our system is flexible, we'll try to build the process into our service (often times it is a report you need) so you can pay just once to develop the process and then have it made available at no extra charge in our system henceforth!

Weather Integration
For many suppliers with seasonal products, understanding the weather impact on sales makes all the difference.

While we can't change the weather, we can change how you react to weather and understand its impact. We now collect daily weather data for 30,000 points around the country in order to provide your business with a better insight into real weather impacts vs. anecdote.

With this service you can not only get weather specific alerts, but also back test your sales data to see whether an early spring vs. late spring is skewing your comp sales forecasts. It is equally important to understand how weather can affect the timing of your inventory planning - both on pre-season ramp up, and post season depletion of inventory. features include:

In recognition that you may have a current data analysis solution that you don't want to leave (or can't), but would still like to take advantage of our services, we've begun offering programmatic access via a REST interface whereby your current analytics provider can pull data from our systems to integrate themselves.

We also understand that you may have an in-house solution and be looking for the external data we provide.
